BAY AREA RIDERS | RIDER SPOTLIGHT | ERIC LEWIS
If you’ve attended Bay Area Riders Bike Night or joined in on a SunDay FunDay ride, chances are, you’ve seen Eric and his Honda Shadow 750.
I got the opportunity to hang out with Eric one afternoon so we could get some pictures of his bike and chat for a bit. He showed me some great spots in Downtown St. Pete and talked about how he ended up on a motorcycle and in Bay Area Riders .
While growing up, Eric watched his dad ride and knew he’d have a bike of his own someday. When that day finally came, he picked up a 1996 Yamaha Virago 750. A perfect starter bike with power, style and comfort.
Through the last 13+ years of riding, Eric has moved on from the Virago, but hasn’t strayed away from the cruiser style of motorcycles. His current being a Honda Shadow Ace 750. You can’t beat the reliability and comfort of the Shadow. Especially when you want to slow it down and just enjoy the ride like he often does on the beach. “Beach ride for me just never gets old.”, he says.
Joining Bay Area Riders was a big deal for Eric. Believe it or not, he actually went a long time without social media at all. He just never found a need for it. That was until one of his riding buddies recommended Bay Area Riders to him. Then he had no choice but to join! You’re welcome Zuckerberg. Bay Area Riders helping facebook get more users.
If you see Eric at the next event, be sure to go check out his bike and introduce yourself. He’s a stand-up guy that’s all about uplifting others and giving advice to those in need!
